Independence Day in the 19th Century, July 4

Two of Jackson County’s historic interpretive sites, Missouri Town 1855 and Fort Osage, are offering special events to bring you Independence Day in an 19th century style!

Experience the 4th of July in an antebellum Missouri village as its residents celebrate Independence Day 1850’s style. A variety of activities for the entire family provide the perfect setting for a fun-filled day. A special patriotic parade, where visitors join staff strolling through the village, highlights the day!
