Members of AHG troops in Missouri and Kansas are invited to Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation in Laurie, Missouri for an exciting summer camp program. Camp dates will be July 14-19, and there will be age-appropriate activities for all program levels.
Remember that summer camp is the highlight of the scouting year and that the deadline for the early registration discount is coming up soon. For this inaugural year, we are offering a reduced fee of $200 ($180 if paid by 6/15/13). That covers almost everything, including three meals a day from Sunday night to Friday breakfast. For adults, the fee is $90 to cover meals.
Plan to arrive Sunday afternoon for check-in, orientation, tours, swim tests, and the like. Troops will cook meals in their camp site; you will be provided groceries and a menu and cooking instructions for every meal. Sunday evening we will have a camp-wide flag ceremony followed by a religious service.
Monday will see the sun rise on a Boy Scout camp populated by only girls, and we will have some specialty programming just for the girls, starting with a flag ceremony in the morning to an all-girl campfire that night. Girls rising into second grade through fifth grade will have an exciting week of age-appropriate programming including shooting BB guns at the range, archery, hand crafts, swimming and other scouting pursuits. Girls entering sixth grade and above will have a more challenging but still age-appropriate programming including shooting bigger guns at the range, archery, climbing on the climbing tower, swimming and other programming. For the older girls the programming is also centered on the merit badge program.
