Turkey Creek Festival, May 18

Bring the whole gang to beautiful Antioch Park to enjoy a day of free family fun! Activities include a petting zoo, food and craft vendors, inflatables and more! The Summertime Arts and Craft Show, sponsored by JCPRD, invites regional artists with original work featuring such work as drawings, paintings, sculptures, fiber arts, woodcarvings, jewelry, pottery and folk art.  Presented by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District in conjunction with the City of Merriam’s annual Turkey Creek Festival, the arts & craft show is just one of the highlights of this fun-filled day that attracts people from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area. Other festival events include a 5K run, pancake breakfast, children’s activities, food vendors and live music.

Schedule of Events:

7:00-11:00 AM: Pancake Breakfast sponsored by Merriam Lions Club (Shelter #1) – all you can eat pancakes, sausage, coffee & juice. Adults $5; Children 12 & under $3

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Petting Zoo, pony rides, kids inflatable games (Antioch Park) – Build a wooden project (sponsored by Home Depot), or take a train ride. Paddle boat rides, roving clowns, caricaturist, and much more! From noon to 5:00 PM enjoy the sounds of local artists at various locations in the park!
