There will be an American Heritage Girls informational meeting tonight at Fellowship Bible Church (16900 Waverly Road, Gardner, KS), 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. All parents of daughters are welcome to come and find out more. Formal meetings will be starting up in the fall twice a month on Monday evenings. The Gardner group will be partnered with Trail Life USA (for boys 5-18 yrs.) which will also be meeting at FBC in Gardner on Mondays. Both groups are faith-based scouting groups and we’d love to have you join us this evening and learn more about American Heritage Girls!
If you’re not in the Gardner/Edgerton/Springhill/Western Olathe Area and would like to find out more of a group in your area, check out http://www.ahgonline.org/ and you can find out about the other troops and more about AHG as well!

Welcome to all our new friends in Springfield, MO!
American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a faith-based program that fits well with the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts that meets every Monday evening at First Baptist Church here. Other Missouri AHG troops are located in Versailles, St. Louis, and Kansas City.
The troop coordinator is Kathryn Mainka. Denise Overton, wife of Pastor Michael Overton, is the troop shepherd. Other leaders are Crystal Listerman, Karen Strick, and Kathy Love. After one month there are 22 girls registered.
The church has provided financial support and meeting space for AHG. David J. Eslick is the coordinator between the AHG and the church, just as he is with Boy Scout Troop 5 and Cub Scout Pack 5, and Girl Scout Troop 5.
Each month the girls will work on a service project. Upcoming projects include making Christmas cards for soldiers serving overseas and helping the church with Operation Christmas Child, packing shoeboxes with items for children overseas. Girls who have become members of this new troop are from several churches in the community.

We’ve been teasing you recently about a new Troop about to be launched — today we received confirmation they have received their official Charter from AHG, Inc.
Please help us in welcoming Independence, Missouri to our family of area Troops!
They plan on meeting at Coventry Estates Baptist Church on 39th Street.
If you would like more information on their plans, please contact April Milam.
OK, this is getting a little out of hand. We’re hearing rumors of new Troops sprouting up all over the city — but until they are officially chartered, we don’t have a way to reach out to them. Our group of local coordinators are eager to help new Troops get to a successful launch — if you know of anyone working towards a new Troop, would you please point them over here, or to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AHGKansasMissouri?
We have a lot of new Troops in the area, but if you haven’t found one that’s quite right for your family, consider starting your own! (It’s not as hard as you think!) There are plenty of experienced leaders nearby who would be happy to mentor you through the process, too. Visit the AHG website for information on how to get started. http://www.ahgonline.org/pages/page.asp?page_id=19416
